How it works…

The basis of my work is centered on the cutting edge advances being made in neuroscience. How our brain develops and works in conjunction with our body and how we apply that knowledge to make long lasting change in our beings. It encompasses Embodied Counselling, Somatic Practices and Body Work, if required and a deep understanding of the ground breaking new field of interconnected neurobiology. In order to support people to fully heal and grow to their utmost potential we need to utilise the information, wisdom and power of our physical beings, realising that our mind and body are in the constant process of influencing each other.

On a scientific level, we are working together to grow new neural pathways in your brain to support a new way of showing up in the world. In practical terms this means teaching people to notice, feel and allow their physical and emotional responses and then support them in using that information, within their interactions with others, to create more personal awareness and improve their decision making abilities, to feel more pleasure and to bring more pleasure to their partners and to feel more alive and engaged with life.

Research into neuro plasticity has shown that intentional somatic practice is the fastest pathway to learning and that we learn at an even quicker rate if that intentional practice is pleasurable!

Research is also revealing, particularity in the realms of treating trauma, that using body based practices in conjunction with talk therapy is having much faster and better results than talk therapy alone. As a certified Sexological Bodyworker, Somatic Educator and Embodied Counselor, I am trauma informed and uphold the following ethical guidelines.
